Background:

Mr. Prakash Denge, a 40-year-old gentleman residing in Nagpur had a road accident to head injury resulting to midline shift & subdural hematoma in July 2017. After the accident he was admitted in Neuron Hospital, Nagpur. Mr. Prakash was then operated for Right Fronto-Tempo-Parieto decompression with craniotomy conducted in July 2017. In couple of days cranioplasty was done. Later an infection was noted at site of cranioplasty leading to another surgery for removal of bone flap in August 2018. This lead to an asymmetrical skull

Solution:

Dr. Pramod Giri, a well-known Neuro surgeon at Neuron Hospital studied the patient’s CT scan images. After doing so he concluded the need for patient specific cranial implant. Incredible team discussed with Dr. Giri the design and process. The design was completed with valuable inputs between the doctor and the Incredible design team together. The benefits of a Customized implant were discussed. The implant would also help to give the patient back his confidence by maintaining the symmetry in the skull and giving back his earlier aesthetics. The cranial plate was printed on Reinshaw AM400 Machine which helped to give the exact accuracy and fit needed.
