Case Presentation:

Dr Subhash Jangid, Director and Unit Head, Bone and Joint Institute at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram, along with our design engineers planned the whole prosthesis. As the previously implanted hip prosthesis was lying loose in the pelvis, this caused pain and constant irritation of the muscles surrounding the implant. This resulted in loss of sleep in patient. She was also wheelchair bound and barely able to go to washroom even with the support of walker. The surgeon decided to go for anatomic replacement of the acetabulum and adjoining surface, and bony tissue part which got damaged due to previous surgery. Read more
