
Background
A 62-year-old male patient met with an accident leading to head injury.
The patient was admitted with FUC of loss of skin and chronic sinus overlaying cranioplasty on the site right frontal region. The craniotomy was done followed by Cranioplasty.
The surgeon, after severe brainstorming concluded the need of PSI (Patient specific implant) to correct the defected part of the patient.

Solution
Dr Puneet Malik, a well-known Neurosurgeon at Yashoda Hospital, Delhi studied the patient’s CT scan images. After doing so he concluded that the defect in the cranial could be corrected by customized PEEK implant rather than bone grafting. The patient was admitted with FUC of loss of skin and chronic sinus overlaying cranioplasty on the site right frontal region. The patient also had a history of sequestrectomy. The removal of cranioplasty bone flap was done on 29/08/2022, which led to bone flap defect. The patient was admitted for the next surgery of cranioplasty and Dural repair. Implant was manufactured under ISO 13485 guidelines & tested to give an accurate fit & utmost safety.
