
Background
A 20-year-old male from Bihar, India, presented to the emergency department following a road traffic accident involving two motorcycles. The patient sustained severe craniofacial trauma, including a right frontal comminuted skull fracture with acute subdural and epidural hematomas.

Solution
After recovery from the acute traumatic injury and decompressive craniectomy, the patient was admitted for definitive reconstruction of the resulting cranial defect.
A patient-specific 3D printed PEEK cranial implant was designed and manufactured according to the patient's individual cranial anatomy. The customized implant was developed to accurately address the post-craniectomy defect while restoring the natural contour of the skull. Read more
